Today went as usual as I continued working on my report and adding features to the system. The system is functional, but not completely good yet, as there are still many improvements that can be made to make it more convenient, efficient, and distinct from the usual systems used. Furthermore, I also had the opportunity to attend a Raya celebration at Yayasan Pendidikan Maidam at their office. It was a great experience as I got to meet and get to know various officers from different departments while enjoying our time together.
In addition, I had the chance to consult with an assistant from the Internal Audit Unit about another type of system. He explained a system they have proposed to the Information Technology department and discussed whether it could be developed through in-sourcing. The system is related to maintaining an audit trail when they are questioning their clients. I have taken this into consideration and compared the feasibility of both systems to decide which system I should continue to develop for this project.
Today’s experience gave me a better understanding of how system development in a real working environment requires not only technical skills but also consideration of user needs and practicality. By comparing the feasibility of two different systems, I learned the importance of evaluating which system would bring more value and is more suitable to be developed within the given time and resources. Attending the Raya celebration also helped me improve my communication skills as I had the opportunity to interact with officers from different departments. This made me realize the importance of building good relationships in a workplace, as it can help in gaining insights and cooperation for future tasks. Overall, today was a meaningful day as I was able to enhance both my technical knowledge and soft skills.
