Today, the Audit Unit continued conducting the IT audit. My task for the day involved inspecting additional assets that had been purchased and cross-checking their serial numbers against those stated in the invoices provided by the supplier. This process was carried out to ensure that the purchased assets were correctly recorded and assigned to the appropriate users.
In addition, we conducted further evidence collection by taking photographs of the audited assets. These photographs serve as supporting audit evidence and help strengthen the findings and observations presented in the audit report. Through this activity, I gained a better understanding of the importance of asset verification and evidence collection in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of audit findings.
This activity allowed me to gain more exposure to the practical procedures involved in an IT audit. I learned that verifying asset information against supporting documents, such as supplier invoices, is important to ensure the accuracy and accountability of organizational assets. The process required careful attention to detail, as even small discrepancies could affect the reliability of audit records.
Furthermore, assisting in the collection of photographic evidence helped me understand the importance of supporting audit findings with sufficient evidence. Overall, this experience improved my understanding of audit practices and strengthened my ability to perform verification and documentation tasks more effectively.
